The Central African Republic accused Chad of massing 28 tanks, along with artillery and aircraft, near the border town of Gore and interpret this as preparations for an impending attack. Fifteen tanks might be enroute to attack Bouar and 13 tanks to Yaloke. There were two South African and two French instructors among them. The CAR asked the UN to condemn Chad, while Chad's ambassador to the CAR who refused to comment the allegations. Chad's only "tanks" are T-55s and T-62s captured from Libya in 1987, although it has plenty of armored cars. - Adam Geibel
