The Army has decided to form Combined Joint Task Force 180 (from the headquarters of the 18th Airborne Corps, including Lieutenant General Dan McNeill) to control operations in Afghanistan. A brigade from the 82nd Airborne is being prepared for deployment to that country to replace the brigade from the 101st Airborne that has been there since January.--Stephen V Cole
