The first six Israeli Arrow anti-missiles went on duty at Palmachim Air Force Base in central Israel on 14 March. The missiles are not fully operational as they have just been delivered and the crews are not fully trained, but the Israeli defense forces said they could "improvise operations" if missiles were fired at Israel. Major General Eitan Ben-Eliahu, commander of the Air Force, said Arrow would be continually improved to meet the evolving threat. The missiles were painted khaki.--Stephen V Cole
