Support: Cargo Container Comfort

Archives

June 21, 2008:  The popularity of shipping containers as shelters in combat zones has created a small industry supplying materials that make it easier to convert the 20 or 40 foot  containers. ShelterPAK is a kit of materials that enables two men, using screwdrivers, to install insulation, panels on the walls, floor and ceiling, electrical wiring and a front door and window. This takes two hours. None of the kit parts weighs more than 35 pounds.  Eight of these kits can be shipped in a standard 20x8x8 foot container. The kits can also be removed, which is useful if a unit is pulling out and does not, or cannot, take the containers along.
