South Africa's Denel reports that it has developed new ammunition for the G6 howitzer (a 6x6 wheeled system with a 45-caliber barrel) allowing it to fire accurately to 53.6 kilometers. It achieves this range with a base-bleed shell that incorporates a rocket motor, and with the new bi-modular charge system. Denel is offering the ammunition and charge system for export, as it can be used with most 155 artillery systems.--Stephen V Cole
