Details on the use of the carrier Kitty Hawk as a Special Forces helicopter base show that it the operation was carried out quickly. Two weeks after it was agreed to provide the Kitty Hawk for this purpose, the army personnel were on board and on their way. Some 600 Special Forces personnel were put on the carrier, along with twenty special operations helicopters and 430 tons of army equipment. Both the navy and the army were pleased at how this operations worked out. It showed that the carrier made an excellent base for special operations, and that in the future such a "special operations carrier" could be put off any hostile shore and provide support for Special Forces operations.
